Andrew Ratcliffe
My recording experience started by peering over the shoulders of other engineers and producers. The studio was up and running for a few years when it came time for me to step into an engineering position. Matt Gillentine, the main engineer at the time, decided that he needed a break from the studio for a few years and with no one else to engineer I shut down the studio for two months. During this time I took what I had learned from watching Matt and recorded seventeen songs of my own. After blowing up the Giltone "Little Red Man" guitar amp, sorry Mike, and a console strip I came to terms with the system. I opened back up to record Brad Bailey of "The Glass" from Memphis and since then it's been one session after another.

Since that time I've had the pleasure of mentoring with Nashville producer Freddy Wall. He has helped craft music for the likes of Peter Gabriel and Robert Palmer. In working with him I have learned my way around a fully automated SSL and Trident 80B console, as well as many other "old school" recording techniques.

Learning from all these experiences, it has been a joyous and blessed journey to walk down to my backyard and put together records, "yep, still call 'em records" of music that will be here forever. The most important issue here at Tweed, is that our name in your liner notes is a privileged opportunity. We are willing to go above and beyone the call of what it takes to make your project sound the very best that it can. I look forward to hearing from you and your music soon.
